Hoboken Grace · Dinner Groups
What the list is, why we started it, and the words to send when someone lands on yours.

Someone tried to join your group, it was full, and they left their name instead. That email you got is a person raising their hand.
We started waitlists this year as a way to learn who is interested in what groups. Groups often reach our online capacity of twelve, and when that happens we mark the group full and take it offline. However, we never close groups, because closing a group would take away your chance, and your group’s chance, to invite someone to your table.
We figured that if someone from our community could tell us they are interested, it might help you look at your group and think, hey, we are at twelve but I have four no shows, so let’s let them in. You are the only one who can see that.
This helps all of us be aware, and hopefully gives the most people a chance to get connected.
You received that waitlist email because according to our system you are over capacity. A person wanted to express to us they are interested in being in your group and want to be added to the waitlist to get into your group.
There are a couple of paths you could take here.
If you have room, let us and them know. We can get them added to your roster or you can do that yourself in Planning Center.
The capacity is yours. We ask for at least twelve, after that we trust your read of the room. We see a number, but you see the chairs, the people who have quietly stopped coming, and whether one more person makes the night better or harder.
If you do not have room, that is okay. It still tells us this person wants community, and that is enough for our team to go find them a table.
Send one of these in the next few days. All it has to do is show them a person is on the other end of the form.
A seat opens, someone moves, or four weeks in you realize twelve was never really twelve. Go get them.
Then add them in Planning Center, or email dinnergroups@hobokengrace.com and we will do it for you. Either way your roster and your attendance stay right.
Close the loop anyway. Waiting on something that is not coming is worse than hearing a clear answer, and this one comes with a handoff.
Email dinnergroups@hobokengrace.com first so our team can start looking, then send one of these.
Email dinnergroups@hobokengrace.com. If something about the list is not working for you, we would rather hear it than not.
