Dinner Group Leader

Role description

Two dinner group members talking and laughing at a table

We are not looking for experts. We are looking for encouragers.

We have people with M.Div.s. We have a care team and trained counselors. Nobody is asking you to be any of that. Each person owns their own spiritual growth, and the group is what supports them in it. Your role is to encourage that.

If you can encourage the people in your group to support one another in their own spiritual growth, you are right for this role. Everything below is what that looks like week to week.

Everything runs on three values. Connect the unconnected. Help people take their next step. Reproduce groups and leaders. The next two sections are those same three, first as what a win looks like, then as how you get there.

What a win looks like

We are connecting the unconnected

  • New people are consistently attending the group.
  • New attendees are being connected within the group.
  • Group members are connecting outside of the group.

People are taking their next step spiritually

  • Group members know their next step.
  • Group members are displaying growth markers.
  • Group members are supporting each other in their growth.

Leaders and groups are being reproduced

  • Group members are beginning to feed others.
  • Apprentices are identified and trained.
  • Groups are multiplying every 18 to 24 months.

Keys to winning

We are connecting the unconnected

  • Group members are consistently identifying and inviting the unconnected around them.
  • Leaders are celebrating those who invited.
  • Connection events are strategically used to connect those identified.

People are taking their next step spiritually

  • Personal Growth Nights are being used consistently.
  • People are sharing their next step with the group.
  • People are praying for one another in their growth steps.
  • Leaders are celebrating next steps.

Leaders and groups are being reproduced

  • Vision of multiplication is being consistently communicated.
  • Leaders are identifying apprentices immediately.
  • Leaders are spending consistent time with apprentices and following the system.
