Group Realignment

A short reset that gets everyone taking ownership again, best run at a natural turn in the season

Leader Context

A few minutes to check in and realign as a group. Done well, these conversations lead to stronger commitment and a healthier group.

Post-Easter heading into summer is a natural moment. So is the start of a new season, or any point where attendance has drifted and nobody has said anything about it.

The part leaders skip is the second half. After you ask what the group wants, say what you want. Be specific.

Read to your group

I want to take fifteen minutes to check in on how this group is going.

Not because anything is wrong. Because we are far enough in that it is worth asking, and because I would rather adjust now than in September.

Questions

What is working

Start positive and specific.

What is working well in our group right now?

The logistics

Ask it plainly. People will not volunteer this.

Does this day and time still work best for everyone? Are there any adjustments we should make?

Finishing strong

This turns the conversation forward instead of backward.

How can we grow with the time we have left and finish strong?
